Marked: Disaster Response
Early Response Team members are currently being deployed.
- Iredell County: Trained and badged ERTs from WNCC are being asked to contact Mike Duncan, Appalachian District Disaster Response Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Stokes, Yadkin and Davie Counties: Trained and badged ERTs from WNCC are being asked to contact Odell Miller, Yadkin Valley District Disaster Response Coordinator at 336-247-9149.
- Regarding WNC May Tornados, please be advised that we are not requesting additional support at this time. ALL other ERTs are being asked to stand down.
Drifter companies often rush to disaster areas where widespread damage has occurred, so be wary of door-to-door solicitors. The Western North Carolina Conference (along with UMCOR, UMVIM, and the United Methodist Church in general) do not recommend or endorse disaster solicitors.
ERTs are being invited to serve in throughout the region. Visit UMVIM for deployment opportunities.
We have had an overwhelming response to the flood bucket, health kit and bedding kit drives. The Disaster Response committee is now moving extra buckets and kits to the Mission Response Center. Please put a hold on further donations.
